Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden

The world-renowned Arboretum and Botanical Garden in Dallas, Texas has collected a long list of awards and accolades since it began in 1974 as a nonprofit organization. In some ways, it sprung up around the DeGolyer estate, which was originally owned by this prominent oil industry family. Today, the Arboretum grounds also incorporate the Alex Camp house built in 1938. In 1984, the gardens swung wide their gates and allow the public to visit for the first time.

Ever since then, visitors from all around the globe have flocked to stroll the 66 acres that are now full of trees, flowers, and other plants both native to the area and imported from other places. Some of the most beloved spots to stop at the Arboretum include the following.

Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden

Encourage your little one’s love of nature with a fun romp through a garden that combines plants, water fountains, and unique teaching opportunities on the docks over White Rock Lake.
